Repairing worn areas on your cat post is as easy as wrapping the “shredded” carpet in sisal rope

A typical 4x4 carpeted post will need approximately 50 feet of rope for every “foot” height of post

Example: If the worn area is 6 inches - then you would need 25 feet of rope

Tips:

-wear light gloves when handling sisal as it has tiny fibres that could poke skin - like a wood sliver

-cut away loose strands of carpet fibres with scissors

-start your rope at the bottom of the worn area and wrap upwards

-always keep the rope tight as you pull it around all 4 sides

-2 people opposite sides -passing the rope around works best

- if your cat is new to sisal rope - give the rope a spray of catnip for encouragement

3/8 inch thick sisal rope 40 cents/foot

CATMAN sells the 3/8-inch-thick "All natural" sisal rope for 40¢ per foot and includes the fence nails that have less risk of a claw getting caught.

Be careful if you plan to buy sisal rope at a big box store. Some brands are treated with oils or preservative chemicals that maybe harmful to your cat.

Smell the rope first -if you sense an odour of solvents or oil - then research the product further before buying.

CATMAN's sisal rope supplier says that traces of machine oil ( .05%) may occur during the manufacturing process as the twisting machines - have pullys and gears that require oiling.

Sisal Repair kits $20 comes with 50 feet of rope & staples
